The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 6 office will inspect the KY 8 Bridge, also known as the 4th Street Bridge, starting Monday, April 17.
Crews will begin the inspection of the bridge over the Licking River between Covington and Newport between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Bridge inspectors anticipate it will take several days to complete.
There will be no lane closures to motorists, and sidewalks will remain open on both the north and south side of the bridge; however, crews will be using rope access and fall-arrest structure climbing technique staged from the sidewalk and from beneath the bridge.
The date, time, and duration of work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur. Motorists can get Northern Kentucky road construction updates here.
