The Covington Department of Parks & Recreation released an online version of its summer program guide as families begin to plan out their spring and summer activities.
“One of our takeaways from last year was that people are just really hungry for recreation and fun, so this year we’re offering things like archery, astronomy, adult crafts and a family-dinner night in addition to our legacy programs,” said Covington Parks & Recreation Manager Ben Oldiges in a press release from the city. “We’re really excited about this year.”
Paper copies of the guide will be placed in City Hall as well as schools, churches and libraries in the coming weeks.
Broadly speaking, the department hoped to build out the number of new programs for 2023 and also improve lines of communication, instituting things like digital reminders for programs and generally increasing marketing efforts in the community.
In addition to new programs, the guide highlights some of the big events the department will put on throughout the year, including the Jack-o-Lantern Walk, summer Movie Nights and the community egg hunt in April.
