An Erlanger-based group for veterans announced its annual 5K walk/run will be at The Banks in downtown Cincinnati this November.

Disabled American Veterans, or DAV, will hold its 10th annual 5K on Saturday, Nov. 5. The organization, whose national headquarters is located at 860 Dolwick Drive in Erlanger, invites individuals to participate in a “run, roll, walk and motorcycle ride that thanks those who served and raises awareness of the issues our ill and injured veterans face every day,” according to a press release from the organization.

DAV is also offering a virtual 5K for participants to complete between Nov. 5 and Nov. 30 “to allow participants to show support for veterans from anywhere across the globe.”

DAV offers services to veterans to help connect them with benefits, particularly filing and receiving Veterans Affairs claims. They also advertise outreach services to help veterans transition back to civilian life in addition to offering programs to help homeless veterans.

CEO Marc Burgess said the 5K supports DAV and its effort to help veterans “live their lives with the respect and dignity they deserve.”

Registration is now open at DAV5K.org. There will also be a virtual ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 11 a.m. to celebrate participants of DAV 5K with special guest video tributes. The program will be live-streamed on DAV5K.org and facebook.com/DAV5K
