Muralist Ben Harrison enjoys music played on the new Fort Thomas community piano by Caileen Tallant-Adams. He has created an art piece to complement the instrument.

We have an update on our story about the Fort Thomas community piano that was destroyed last Sunday.

Caileen Tallant-Adams, owner of Tallant Music Studio who donated the original piano, and city officials vowed the show (and a new summer community piano lesson program) would go on.

Within less than a week, community members were already contacting the organizers with offers of pianos. Then, city officials secured a piano free on Craigslist and installed it, ready to go under the clock tower at North Fort Thomas and Lumley avenues.

To ensure the safety of the new piano, Jordan Khoury, owner of the Fort Thomas Convenient Deli Mart, donated two cameras that will keep watch 24-7.

Tallant-Adams will give free community lessons on the piano twice a month throughout the summer.
