Police responded to a Garrard Street just south of 20th Street in Covington after receiving a call about shots being fired.

It was the second night in a row that gun shots prompted police response in the city.

One neighbor, who asked not to be identified, said Tuesday that he heard 15 shots. One of those shots went through the back bumper of his car into the backseat where he keeps his grandchild’s car seat.

Police pulled the casing from the car for evidence.

The bullet went through the seat of the car.

Police said Wednesday morning that no one was shot in this incident.

Tuesday night’s investigation followed Monday night violence where three children and one adult were shot Monday night on West 17th Street. Police said Tuesday afternoon they have charged 17-year-old Taquan Estes with the shooting, and warned the community he has not yet been located and is considered to be armed and dangerous.
