Kentucky ranks in the middle of the road for best states for college students, according to new data from the scholarship platform bold.org.

Based on the size of student communities, graduation rates, and the cost of attending college — which includes tuition, housing, and food — Kentucky ranks the 27th best state for college students in the U.S.

Florida is the overall best state for students, according to the data; Vermont is the worst overall — though it ranked well for graduation rates, it came in last for the highest cost for tuition and living expenses, bold.org reports.

According to the data, Kentucky has 266,507 people enrolled in college. The state has a graduation rate of 27 percent, and average tuition fees are $10,888.
