Tyson Hermes is one of 15 candidates running for a spot on the Erlanger City Council. Hermes served as Erlanger mayor from 2015 to 2019 and has served multiple terms on the council. He’s also the vice president of his family’s construction business: Hermes Construction. Finally, he’s the head of several city task forces, including the new Public Records Task Force, which has generated some criticism within the council and the broader community.

“Reducing property tax rates is my #1 goal,” said Hermes. “I’d also like to continue reducing the insurance premium tax rates.  I’d like to work on increasing the budget for road and sidewalk repairs.”

Hermes has been an advocate of the city’s parks programs and stated he’d like Erlanger to become “a destination for tourists throughout the world,” a comment that dovetails with the ongoing Eons Park project. He also advocated for eliminating the city’s franchise fee, essentially a tax on utilities, and lowering the insurance premium tax.

“I’m seeking re-election to continue the prosperity of Erlanger,” Hermes said, “ for its residents and its businesses.”
