Steve Cunningham said he is running for reelection to Cold Spring City Council for his family, friends and neighbors and because he plans to remain in the community for years to come.

Cunningham said his children will be 3, 5 and 7 when 2027 begins, giving him a personal interest in Cold Spring’s future. He also said he has made himself accessible to residents who have questions or concerns.

Cunningham faces Chris Ampfer, Lisa Schmidt Cavanaugh, Joe Heil, Paul Kloeker, Mason Meyer, Cindy Moore and Laura Vroegindewey in the Nov. 3 general election.

“Hundreds of citizens already realize I’m just a text or call away if needed,” Cunningham said.

Cunningham said his first priority if reelected would be continuing to maintain 100% attendance at city council meetings, saying being present is essential to serving the community.

If reelected, Cunningham said he will continue focusing his efforts on making improvements in Cold Spring each year, with improved parks and city services at the top of his priority list.
