Holly Anderson is one of 15 candidates running for a spot on the Erlanger City Council. There are nine seats on the council.

Anderson has a professional background in sales and currently works as a market manager for Drees Homes, one of the region’s largest home builders. She said that she was running for city council because “Erlanger is my home, and I care about what happens here.”

“I think the people sitting around the table making decisions for our city should be approachable and genuinely interested in what the people of Erlanger have to say,” Anderson said. “I want to be one of those people.”

Anderson said that her first priority if elected would be to speak to community members and learn more about their desires.

“I want to hear from residents, local businesses, our first responders and city employees,” Anderson said. “What are we doing really well? Where can we do better? And what are we missing?”

She continued.

“Of course, the basics matter — safe neighborhoods, good streets and infrastructure, responsible spending and smart economic development,” Anderson said. “I want Erlanger to grow and thrive, but I also want that growth to make sense for the people who already call it home.”

Anderson encouraged constituents to be open about their wants for the city, even if they risked disagreement.

“We’re not always going to agree, and that’s okay. I actually think hearing different perspectives makes us better,” Anderson said. “Local government is about the things that affect us every single day — our neighborhoods, streets, police and fire departments, local businesses and how we spend taxpayers’ money.”
