The Dutch steakhouse Lisse in Covington has closed without warning.
Lisse opened in 2016 at 530 Main St. in Mainstrasse Village. It was well-known for its focus on fresh vegetables, giant steaks and Dutch-inspired cuisine that reflected the heritage of owner Hans Philippo.

A notice was seen posted on the restaurant’s side door Tuesday announcing that their final day of service was July 3. The notice says “the ongoing ramp closure and the resulting decline in traffic have created challenges that have made it impossible for us to continue operating.”
The statement also says that any customers with outstanding balances, gift cards and the like can contact the restaurant at info@lisse.restaurant or call 859-360-7008.

“We are deeply grateful for the support, loyalty and memories you’ve shared with us over the years. It has been our privilege to serve this community, celebrate your special occasions and welcome you through our doors,” the notice continues. “From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for allowing us to be part of your lives and for making Lisse Steakhuis more than just a restaurant.”
