Kentucky’s 4th Congressional District Republican primary is a battle between incumbent Thomas Massie, as well as former NKY attorney and Republican gubernatorial candidate Eric Deters and Michael McGinnis of Fort Thomas.
All of Kentucky’s congressional seats are on the ballot this year.
Thomas Massie

Thomas Massie has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He entered congress in November 2012 after serving as Lewis County Judge Executive, according to his website.
He serves on three committees: the House Committee on Rules, the House Committee on Transportation & Infrastructure and the House Judiciary Committee.
Eric Deters

Eric Deters graduated from Covington Latin High School, earned an associate’s degree in business administration and a bachelor’s in history from Thomas More University, and graduated from Northern Kentucky University’s Chase Law School, according to his website.
The former attorney and previous Republican gubernatorial candidate currently resides in Walton.
Michael McGinnis

Michael McGinnis of Fort Thomas is a “sixth generation Kentuckian and lifelong Northern Kentuckian,” according to his website.
He is running for congress to “fix the budget process, cut wasteful spending, fix the immigration system, and drain the swamp,” McGinnis said in an opinion piece he submitted to LINK nky.
