As spring break travel season turns into summer travel, the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) has seen passenger volumes inch closer to pre-pandemic levels.
CVG recently reported passenger volumes approaching 90% of pre-pandemic travel. The airport had 363,500 passenger enplanements in June, the best month for passenger volume at CVG since the pandemic began.
The airport welcomed back many international and domestic flights in May and June, which have helped increase travel, according to a press release from CVG.
On May 15, Air Canada returned nonstop service to Toronto Pearson Airport twice daily. Before the busy Memorial Day weekend, Frontier continued its service to Philadelphia and Raleigh-Durham.
In June, Sun Country welcomed back service to Minneapolis-St. Paul and Allegiant resumed nonstop service to Norfolk, VA., and Providence, R.I.
A news release sent by CVG also said service additions would continue over the year. Including Delta resuming nonstop transatlantic service to Paris, France, on Aug. 2.
