The Carnegie, a Northern Kentucky arts gallery, theater and education center, will begin hosting its latest exhibition, called “The Dynamics of Flow,” during a special weekend opening that coincides with the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) conference in March.
The exhibition is not a part of the conference itself, but The Carnegie will hold extended gallery hours from March 15 to March 18, the same dates as the NCECA conference, which is being held in Cincinnati this year.
The extended hours are as follows:
- March 15, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- March 16 & 17, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- March 18, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
A public reception will follow on March 18 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The gallery will return to normal hours on the following Thursday.
“The Dynamics of Flow” will feature sequentially sorted pieces, alternating between ceramic works and paintings. Curators will select each piece so that it artistically responds to the piece that precedes it. According to a press release from The Carnegie, the “exhibition showcases bodies of work that see-saw from ceramics to painting: revealing a dialogue between specific objects and, broadly, between the two mediums.”
The “Dynamics of Flow” is one of several events happening at Northern Kentucky arts institutions during the conference.
The Carnegie is an institution that offers exhibitions for a variety of artistic disciplines to the local community. They also offer theater programs and arts education programs.
