Covington’s Department of Parks & Recreation will host a public open house on July 28 to give residents a chance to leave in-person recommendations on the future of Goebel Park.
Located in Covington’s Mainstrasse neighborhood, the park is one of the city’s key landmarks, but its proximity to the impending Brent Spence project work means its future is in flux.
The city has contracted with KZF Design, a Cincinnati-based architecture firm, to head up the planning process. The contract with KZF was OKed by the Board of Commissioners late last year. Kenney Shields Park, which is adjacent to Goebel Park, is included in the planning process.
The July 28 event will showcase an early concept plan for the parks and allow residents to leave recommendations and ask questions. The event will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Hellman Creative Center on MLK Jr. Boulevard. Learn more and register to attend at engage.kzf.com/cov-goebel.
