The Burnett Sisters Band are set to perform at the Newport Branch of the Campbell County Public Library.
The band, consisting of sisters Anissa, Sophia and Anneli Burnett, along with guitarist Geary Allen, is recognized for mixing bluegrass, old-time, traditional, roots and swing genres.
The concert is slated for 7 p.m. on Sept. 12 as part of the library’s Signature Series. Following the concert, attendees will have an opportunity to meet the musicians and enjoy light refreshments.
Amy Carroll, the library’s programming and community engagement manager, said the performance is meant to provide patrons a chance to relax as fall starts.
“As the busyness of fall starts to arrive, we want to give patrons a space to sit back and enjoy some good music for a while,” Carroll said in a news release. “Many people in the area genuinely love bluegrass and roots music, so our annual concerts are always popular, but I hope patrons unfamiliar with the genre will consider attending too.”
