The City of Covington’s Parks and Recreation Department has brought back its North Pole Express Mail Service, which allows kids in the area to drop their letters to Santa in a convenient box for direct delivery to the North Pole.

Kids can drop their letters in the clearly marked, red drop box found in the lobby of Covington City Hall on Pike Street until Dec. 18, 2024. Dropbox hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. “Be sure to include your full name and mailing address on the letter to get a reply,” the City of Covington recommends in an announcement.

Additionally, the parks and recreation department will be hosting a free community holiday event on Friday, Dec. 13, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the City Commission Chambers at City Hall. Activities will include meeting Santa, arts and crafts, free hot chocolate and snacks and holiday stories.

“We love putting this event on every year,” said Covington Recreational Program Coordinator Alicia Chappell in a city press release. “It reminds us of what this season is really about – quality time with family and spreading holiday cheer. It’s a wonderful opportunity to bring people together, celebrate the joy of the season, and meet Santa!”
