Giant cream puffs, Bavarian pretzels, and, of course, goetta were among the many foods enjoyed Sunday during the opening weekend of Glier’s Goettafest.
The festival, which began in 2001, has grown to offer visitors from all over the tristate a chance to celebrate one of the area’s staple dishes.
Goetta, if you aren’t in the know, is a Cincinnati area delicacy, a German-inspired sausage made of ground meat (pork, or sausage and beef), steel-cut oats and spices.
Goettafest will continue next weekend from Aug. 1 through 4, with free admission for all looking to discover delicious food made from Glier’s goetta.
