It’s almost that weird time of year: The time when school is out, but the pools aren’t open yet and summer programs haven’t yet started.

So what do you do with your kids?

Covington leaders created a free recreation summer camp for third through fifth-grade kids June 5-9.

From noon to 4 p.m., campers can play games, do crafts, play sports, hear from special guests and maybe even go on a field trip. All at no cost to families.

“The goal is to have as much fun as possible and energize youth in the community, all while providing a service that helps parents transition from the school year to the summer,” said Covington Parks and Recreation Manager Ben Oldiges. “We are so excited to be a part of this initiative and can’t wait to see more camps coming to Covington down the road.”

Registration is required. Click here to get your child registered.

The camp will be held at Holmes Middle School, and transportation will be provided for campers from every public Covington elementary school.
