ARMOR-IIMAK, a global manufacturer specializing in thermal transfer ribbons and printing solutions for labeling and packaging, announced a $6 million investment into expanding its Boone County facility.

ARMOR-IIMAK, located at 2900 Earhart Ct. in Hebron, makes thermal transfer ribbons for digital printing uses. The investment aims to increase production capacity and consolidate certain production volumes across its network.

The investment includes facility modifications, installation of new equipment, and workforce expansion to support increased manufacturing output. The 65 new positions will span manufacturing, technical and support functions, bringing the company’s total Kentucky workforce to more than 100 employees.

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, in a news release from the governor’s office, hailed the investment as beneficial for the state’s manufacturing sector.

“One of the key drivers behind our historic economic momentum has been Kentucky-based companies continuing to reinvest in the communities they serve,” Beshear said in the release. “This expansion is a testament to not only our state’s resources and business-friendly environment, but also to the skilled workforce and dedicated partners collaborating at the local and state levels. I am happy to see 44 new, quality jobs coming to Boone County and look forward to ARMOR-IIMAK’s continued success.”

The ARMOR Group, parent company of ARMOR-IIMAK, is based in Nantes, France, operating manufacturing and commercial facilities around the world, serving clients in industrial, logistics, retail, healthcare and packaging industries.
