The Covington Business Council has created a new fellowship in partnership with SparkHaus, Northern Kentucky’s entrepreneurship hub along Madison Avenue.
The CBC Foundation Fellowship will cover the costs of a SparkHaus coworking membership for 10 individuals for six months. Preference will be given to applicants who are not currently based in Covington.
Recipients will also receive mini memberships to the Covington Business Council, including access to three select CBC luncheons with opportunities to connect with members whose expertise aligns with the fellows’ work.
“It (SparkHaus) should have a dramatic effect on economic development and creating a growing, exciting, next generation feel. We couldn’t be more excited to contribute to this vibe,” CBC Executive Director Pat Frew said. “Our involvement in this effort aligns with our mission to help build a strong residential community that grows in conjunction with our business partners creating an urban living environment that is second to none.”
Blue North, which operates SparkHaus, will review fellowship applications and recommend recipients to the CBC Foundation. The total value of the program is $12,000 over one year.
SparkHaus, located at 727 Madison Avenue, was created through a partnership among Kenton County, the Northern Kentucky Port Authority, and Blue North. The space offers entrepreneurs resources, networking opportunities, and support to start and grow businesses, making it the largest dedicated entrepreneurial hub in Kentucky.
