Honey Uninhibited, a southern-style comfort food restaurant, announced its permanent closure on Instagram.

The restaurant is the brainchild of former Bengals defensive end Carlos Dunlap’s Uninhibited Hospitality Group. It served southern favorites like Gullah shrimp-n-grits and lobster truffle mac & cheese, as well as specialty drinks and mimosa kits.

“This was not an easy decision for me,” Dunlap said in the statement. “I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish at Honey Covington and deeply grateful to my dedicated team and loyal guests who chose Honey.”

Located at 50 E. Rivercenter Blvd inside the Covington RiverCenter, Honey Uninhibited opened for business in June 2023. During the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the restaurant, Dunlap said his hospitality group signed a 10-year lease with Corporex — the owner of the RiverCenter.
