Gunpowder Creek Vineyards, a winery based out of Union, took home one of five Commissioner’s Cups in this year’s Kentucky Commonwealth Wine Competition, put on by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture.

“Congratulations to all of the Kentucky commercial wines that competed and won medals at this year’s competition,” Commissioner of Agriculture Jonathan Shell said in a press release. “Kentucky’s wine industry continues to grow and this competition showcases the best of the best.”

This will be the second time Gunpowder Creek has taken home a Commissioner’s Cup, awarded to five commercial winemakers in Kentucky annually. Gunpowder Creek won the red wine category this year with its Norton line of red wines.
