Multinational manufacturing company Jabil is closing its facility on Ted Bushelman Drive in Florence.

Jabil, headquartered in St. Petersburg, Florida, is a manufacturer of electronic circuit boards and systems. Its customers include large companies such as Apple, Coca-Cola and Alphabet — Google’s parent company. The company was founded in 1966 and is now featured on the Fortune 150.

In total, 108 plant workers will be laid off due to the closure, according to the WARN Notice Report. Positions affected by the layoffs include people working in operations, maintenance, human resources, industrial engineering, materials handling, quality control and shipping. The majority of the layoffs will impact the operations team.

The report says the facility’s closure is due to a customer of Jabil’s moving out of state.

Jabil sent a notice letter to the Kentucky Career Center Office of Employer and Apprenticeship Services on Sept. 30. Layoffs are projected to finish by Dec. 6.

None of the employees who are getting off are members of a labor union, according to the report. Additionally, none of the employees have any bumping rights. This refers to the rights of more senior employees to retain their jobs by “bumping” less senior employees during layoffs or restructuring.

Jabil has two other facilities located in Florence that will not be impacted by the closure.
