Cerberus Den, home to the local tabletop gaming community, has announced the closure of its Fort Thomas location after less than a year.
The storefront was opened by Adriana Porciello and Josh Courtney. Having moved from Newport to a different location in Fort Thomas in 2023, the gaming shop moved to its newest home at 26 North Fort Thomas Ave. in February. It officially closed on Aug. 18.
“When given the opportunity to open a store front, we jumped at the idea hoping to expand our business in a retail space,” the business said via Facebook. “Sadly, this direction did not make us as happy as we had hoped. Adrianna and I miss the days of traveling to shows and enjoying games with everyone without the pressure of overhead and would like to get back to our roots.”
The owners said via Facebook that they have decided to move the Cerberus Den back to their home to allow them to focus more on new designs/creations and to run events as a third party without the stress of having the physical store.
“Our goal is to continue building our brand in spaces we love like the Lorcana community,” the post continued. “Putting more focus on our online presence like Youtube/Twitch, will allow us to build upon our community for new people to enjoy our content. Our online store will continue to grow and provide more sealed and singles product than ever before.”
