A Covington small business owner will detail her entrepreneurial career at the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce’s next Young Professionals Lunchtime Leader Chat.
Michele Tibbs, co-founder of Grainwell — a boutique home goods shop that sells handcrafted goods — is the event’s next featured speaker. Tibbs will discuss her business journey, sharing insights into her company that she co-founded along with her sister Melyssa.
Michele and Melyssa started their business in 2013 when they crafted a wooden sign for their parents around Christmas time. Nearly one year later, the duo opened up Grainwell, located at 33 W. Pike St. in Covington.
The Lunchtime Leader Chat series provides an opportunity for Young Professionals in Northern Kentucky to connect with regional community and business leaders as they share professional development tips, lessons learned, industry insights and personal mantras.
The Lunchtime Leader Chat is set to take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 8 at the Kenton County Government Center — located at 1840 Simon Kenton Way in Covington.
“The Lunchtime Leader Chat is an excellent opportunity to connect with regional business leader, Michele Tibbs and learn from her experience as an entrepreneur,” said Northern Kentucky Young Professionals Director of Events Kyle Frizzell. “This biannual event is a special investment in our future leaders who will guide the region for years to come.”
Prior to Grainwell, Tibbs worked as an intensive care unit nurse for eight years before transitioning from the medical field into entrepreneurship.
