A Newport bakery and coffee shop announced their closure over the weekend.
Baker’s Table Bakery, located at 1001 Monmouth Street, closed its doors on Saturday, Oct. 28, after its last day of business.
The bakery detailed their closure in an Instagram post to their official account. They also posted a note to their business’ front door.
“In the name of our mission, tomorrow will be our last public service here at The BTB,” read the Instagram post. “While bittersweet as change always is, this evolution will allow us to better engage with our community, lift up our patrons, and help local businesses thrive.”
The Baker’s Table restaurant across the street will remain open.
Going forward, the Baker’s Table will bring back their brunch offering on Saturday and Sunday starting in November. Additionally, they will be offering immersive cooking classes in their former bakery space, where attendees can make pizzas, pasta, and bread.
“This is a bit of an emotional moment for us as we’ll miss our regulars and the history we’ve built with you all, however we’re making room for so many new experiences we can share together,” the post said.
