Flow owner Rhys Watkins announced on Facebook Friday that the Newport coffee shop would be closing.
While not giving a specific timeline for its closure, Watkins said the decision was not easy.
“When I opened Flow I had one simple goal: to provide to the Greater Cincinnati community with innovative, one-of-a-kind coffee,” Watkins wrote in the post.
Watkins thanked the community for supporting the company’s mission.
“As an entrepreneur, I have worked to bring people together,” he wrote in the post, “offer knowledge, reduce waste, and increase productivity through science and analytics. I hoped this would help people genuinely appreciate the value of these crops and the people who produce them.”
According to Flow’s website, Watkins studied the chemistry and physics of coffee for five years before creating the extraction method used in the coffee shop.
“We are the only ones in the world who are using equipment like this, to make drinks like this,” says the website. “We let our bean juice speak for itself.”
