A Newport restaurant is opening another location in Northern Kentucky’s second-largest city.
Jot India, located on Monmouth Street in the Newport Shopping Center, is expanding into Florence, the restaurant announced on its Facebook page.
“We are excited to announce that the sign for our second location in Florence, Kentucky just went up today,” the post reads. “This was only made possible by the continued support of our loyal customers. We want to thank you all for the love and support you have showed us since we’ve opened our location in Newport.”
The new location will be in a 2,800-square-foot space inside the Turfway Commons shopping center next to Wild Birds Unlimited on Houston Road. Previously, Payless Shoes occupied the space. As of now, there is no set opening date.
Married couple Gurbachan Singh and Manjeet Kaur founded Jot India in 2021, according to Yelp. Since its establishment, Yelp has ranked Jot India as number 48 in their Top 100 Restaurants of 2023.
The menu consists of popular Indian-style cuisine, including chicken tikka masala, saag paneer, chicken shahi korma and paneer makhani. For dessert, customers can choose between kheer, an Indian-style rice pudding, and other items like Gulab Jamun, a fried cheese ball soaked in honey syrup.
