Daniel “Dan” Bell is Taylor Mill’s incumbent mayor. He will face Michael Blackburn for the mayor’s seat in November.

Bell was first elected mayor of Taylor Mill in 2010. He served as an elected city commissioner for six years before that. In his professional life, he was a biology teacher and baseball coach at Simon Kenton High School. He later served as a national account director for Pfizer for over 30 years.

“Taylor Mill has accomplished a great deal, but many important projects are still underway,” Bell said. “I am seeking re-election because I want to use the experience, relationships and knowledge I have gained to finish that work and prepare Taylor Mill for its next chapter.”

During his time in office, Bell has overseen several key projects, such as the city’s new firehouse. He’s also been instrumental in increasing funding for the city’s sidewalk program, as well as increases in funding for Pride Park.

“My first priority will be improving traffic safety along Pride Parkway, particularly at the Taylor Creek intersection and Old Taylor Mill Road,” Bell said. “As our community and surrounding areas continue to grow, traffic along Pride Parkway has become an increasing concern. Taylor Creek residents, in particular, can face challenges safely entering and exiting their neighborhood during peak traffic times.”

He said he also wanted to pursue grants for other park, infrastructure and recreation improvements. He also said he wanted to address ongoing stormwater issues on Vincent Drive. Additionally, he explicitly opposed the use of Flock cameras.

“Ultimately, these priorities are connected,” Bell said. “My goal is to protect what residents value about Taylor Mill while continuing to invest in our infrastructure, improve our parks and neighborhoods, encourage responsible economic growth, protect residents’ privacy and make smart use of taxpayer dollars.”
