The FIRE Foundation of Northern Kentucky announced Tuesday it had granted $154,600 to six diocesan schools throughout the region to help them expand learning resources for students with disabilities and other specialized learning needs.

“This is truly a testament to the energy, effort, heart and soul that our schools and educators are putting into inclusive education,” said Missy Hail, president of the FIRE Foundation of Northern Kentucky. “We are inspired by their dedication and honored to partner with them in this important work. These grants help ensure that more students can experience the life-changing benefits of a Catholic education where they know they belong.”

Founded in 2023, the FIRE Foundation aims to raise money to help Catholic schools expand specialized learning programs. The grants awarded this year will help fund a full-time special educator, two paraprofessionals, an RN, a reading specialist, contracted speech & language therapy services and various equipment purchases.

The following schools were awarded grants:

  • St. Therese Catholic School
  • St. Henry Catholic School
  • Mary Queen of Heaven School
  • St. Joseph Catholic School, Crescent Springs
  • St. Pius X Catholic School
  • St. Agnes Catholic School

“These grants are helping schools build sustainable programs that directly impact students, teachers and families,” Hail also said. “Together, we are creating a culture of belonging in our Catholic schools where every student is valued and given the opportunity to thrive.”
