Despite being the 15th “most-haunted road in the country,” Narrows Road in Erlanger is set for improvements after Tuesday night’s city council meeting.
Mayor Jessica Fette said the city had acquired the two necessary easements to begin working on the construction of sidewalks at the corner of Narrows and Brightleaf Boulevard. Both property owners signed the paperwork in the past week.
“I know this has been a long awaited project, so we are very excited to get it completed,” Fette said.
The sidewalk is set to run from Brightleaf to the Drees Homes at Southwick development across from the fire station. The city intends to re-pave Narrows Road all the way to Richardson Road with new blacktop as part of the same project.
To control traffic during this time, Fette said a new three-way stop will be added to Mesa Drive, and a four-way to Country Road. The speed limit along the targeted streets will also be reduced to 25 miles per hour.
The plan will be advertised starting this Thursday, and bidding is expected to start Jan. 29.
The city council expects the project to be finished by the end of the fiscal year 2026.
