Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Covington has named Deacon Barry Henry as its new director of community ministries and outreach.

“We look forward to welcoming Deacon Barry as he begins this new chapter of ministry, leading vital programs such as the Parish Kitchen, Mobile Food Pantry, Prison Ministry and Pickett’s Corner with compassion, vision and faith,” wrote Catholic Charities in a press release.

Henry has professional background in marketing and business brand development. He has served as a deacon with the diocese since 2019. He’s served on various boards and has worked with Northern Kentucky ministries, such as the Rose Garden Home Mission and the Madonna House of Northern Kentucky. His family has also served as a foster household for over ten years, experiences he said deepened his “understanding of trauma, vulnerability and the importance of nurturing and advocacy.”

Henry will begin his work as the new director on Nov. 17.
