Sherry Goodridge, the vice chair of the Kenton County Republicans Executive Board, has declared her intent to run for a seat on the Kenton County Fiscal Court, specifically as a commissioner for the newly reapportioned second district.

“I’m running to serve the people of Kenton County with integrity and practicality,” said Goodridge in a press release. “Our community deserves leadership that listens, protects our freedoms and ensures our county remains a great place to live, work and raise a family.”

The reapportioned second district is currently open. Candidates won’t be able to officially file to run with county clerks’ offices until November, but any candidate who wishes to raise or spend more than $5,000 during an election has to file with the Kentucky Registry for Election Finance. Goodridge filed her paperwork on June 23. Filing with the registry is often the first indication that someone plans to run.

In addition to serving on the country Republicans Executive Board, Goodridge also serves on the Kenton County Police Merit Board and formerly served as president of the Kenton County Republican Women’s Club. She lives with her family in Independence.

“I’ve spent many years supporting other candidates’ success, and now I want to support our community’s success,” Goodridge said. “Whether it’s advocating for better schools, safer neighborhoods or a stronger economy, I will work tirelessly to make our county a place where everyone can thrive. Together, we can build a future that reflects our shared values and aspirations.”
