The Covington Central Riverfront project will be impacting drivers and pedestrians around Madison Avenue and Third Street over the next seven weeks as electrical infrastructure is installed.

Construction crews are installing an electric conduit at the former IRS site development, a 23-acre site just west of Madison Avenue and north of Fourth Street known as the Covington Central Riverfront that is being transformed into a new mixed-use neighborhood.

The city warned that vehicular traffic lanes and pedestrian access to sidewalks will occasionally be reduced or even shut down in the area. The pace of the work is subject to change and may be impacted by weather and other factors.

Construction signage and detours will be updated routinely, closures can be found at thecovky.gov.
