Gateway Community & Technical College is partnering with the Florence Fire/EMS Department for a satellite paramedic program.
The collaboration will debut with the launch of a paramedic program cohort at Florence Fire/EMS, which will begin this summer.
Gateway and Florence Fire/EMS are working with St. Elizabeth Healthcare on the program to address the region’s growing educational and workforce needs and beyond.
The department approached Gateway and St. Elizabeth to expand their program and increase the number of available paramedics critically needed in the region. The new satellite program will strengthen the capacity of the Paramedic Education Department at Gateway, offering more opportunities for aspiring paramedics while supporting the hiring needs of local agencies.
Florence Fire/EMS provides fire, rescue, and emergency medical services to the city of Florence and the Florence Fire Protection District of Boone County. It covers approximately twenty square miles and has a combined population of 55,781.

Prospective paramedic students are encouraged to inquire about this program by contacting gw-healthprofessions@kctcs.edu or by clicking here.
