Hurricane Helene, which made landfall in Florida late Thursday before weakening to a tropical storm mid-morning Friday, will affect local weather throughout the weekend.
A high-wind advisory has been issued for our area until 10 p.m., according to our partner WCPO. Wind gusts of up to 60 miles per hour are expected during this advisory.
Those winds have already closed some schools early and led to the cancellation of football games across NKY.
Rain is also expected throughout the evening, with spotty showers and clouds hanging around through the weekend.
