The Kentucky State Police’s recently released 2023 annual crime report, which tallies the counts of various crimes throughout the commonwealth, shows a drop in homicides, robberies, burglaries, and kidnappings from 2022.

Homicides declined from 571 in 2022 to 562 in 2023, according to the report. Robberies, on the other hand, dropped from 2,197 in 2022 to 1,835 in 2023. Other crimes showed varying levels of increase and decrease from the preceding year.
