Kentucky Transportation Cabinet document registration services at both the Covington and Independence locations began migrating to a new electronic records systems this week.

As a result, all auto-related documentation processing, including renewals, transfers, handicapped sign applications and any auto-related transactions, will be placed on hold until the migration is completed, according to an announcement from the Kenton County Clerks Office.

The transition is scheduled to be completed on Jan. 9. Residents can still drop off document submissions and renewals to the offices, but they will not be processed until after the migration is completed. Real estate documentation and voter registration services are not affected.
