Representatives from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will brief the Covington Board of Commissioners on the 4th Street Bridge replacement project during the commission meeting on July 18, according to a recent press release from the city. The presentation follows a similar brief made to the Newport Board of Commissioners last week.
“Like the rest of the elected officials, my e-mail [in-box] has been blowing up with a petition for us to take some type of action with the state of Kentucky on the Fourth Street Bridge,” Covington Vice Mayor Ron Washington said in the release. “I’ve said before that we have limited ability to do anything with that project – it belongs to the state of Kentucky. They make the decisions on it.
The meeting will be open to the public.
The cabinet is still soliciting public feedback on the project and its potential design. To give your thoughts on project, fill out the cabinet’s online contact form. For more information, visit the project’s website.
