The LINK nky Educator of the Week contest recognizes and celebrates the incredible educators who go above and beyond for Northern Kentucky students every day.
Each week, we will choose three nominees who have made an impact on their community and who represent a diverse mix of roles, grade levels, subject areas, school types and geographic locations.
LINK nky’s Educator of the Week is sponsored by Gateway Community & Technical College. Each weekly winner will advance to the Educator of the Semester contest, where readers will vote to select one outstanding educator to receive a $100 gift card from Gateway to help purchase classroom supplies, decorations and other school essentials.

The Educators

Educator: Alison Ward
Role: Teacher at Turkey Foot Middle School
Nominators: Railynn Ward
Why Railynn nominated Alison: She really gets into your mind, and she can really help you learn.
She also understands most of her kids that she has; she can manage to learn many songs and then teach them to 3 different grades.

Educator: Robin Jones
Role: Teacher at Longbranch Elementary School
Nominator: Charlotte Fay
Why Fay nominated Jones:
I would like to nominate Mrs. Jones from Longbranch Elementary School for NKY Educator of the Week. She was my kindergarten teacher, and now that I am in fifth grade, I still remember how special she made me feel.
Mrs. Jones makes sure everyone feels included and welcome. Even now, she always says hi to her former students at Monday Morning Meeting. She is always there when you need help and truly cares about her students. She also did a great job teaching us online during COVID.
Mrs. Jones is an amazing teacher because she makes everyone feel like they belong. I think she deserves to be NKY Educator of the Week!

Educator: Jason Howard
Role: Teacher at Kenton Elementary
Nominator: Loryn Good
Why Good nominated Howard: Mr. Howard is one of my favorite teachers. He is always there for his students, and he has such a good environment in his classroom.
He always encourages his kids to do their best; he also shows that he cares for his students no matter what . He is an amazing educator and that is why i nominated him!
