The Carnegie’s longtime theater director announced last week that she will be leaving her position this fall in pursuit of another opportunity.

Maggie Perrino will be the new artistic director at the School for the Creative and Performing Arts in Cincinnati. Perrino will finish the summer season with The Carnegie and is set to change positions in early September.

Perrino started with The Carnegie in 2015. In her current role, she has navigated audiences through the COVID-19 pandemic. During her tenure, Perrino founded The Carnegie’s Creative Disruption Committee, an artist-driven consortium dedicated to creating live theater opportunities during the pandemic, which included outdoor productions throughout the Greater Cincinnati region.

“Maggie has left an amazing mark on our organization and will forever be a part of The Carnegie family,” said Carnegie Executive Director Kim Best. “Maggie’s passion and experience make her perfect for her new position and SCPA is lucky to be gaining such an accomplished artist and educator. Everyone at The Carnegie wishes her the best of luck in this next endeavor.”

Efforts are currently underway to fill the theater director position. More information can be found here.
