Fort Thomas residents certainly thought they were lucky when an ice cream shop opened up in town…and now that shop is sweetening up the deal to include one of the greatest creations known to all mankind; Cookie Dough.

Back in January, FTM brought you the news that Fort Thomas Ice Cream (1013 S. Fort Thomas Ave.) was planning to partner with another local business called Parlor Ice Cream and Cookie Dough. Parlor recently purchased Fort Thomas Ice Cream from owner Jason Williams who will stay on making his ice cream for the new owners Keith Hazelwood and Joshua Bolin.

The new business will take on the Parlor name. This Friday, March 19, The Parlor will open its doors at 12:30 p.m.

The newly revamped space will feature a new “Highlands” blue and white theme with the addition of a TV and eventually some of Parlor’s signature orange padded leather bar stools along the coffee bar.

There will even be some nods to Fort Thomas history in the space featuring historic photos as a rotating display from The Fort Thomas Military and Community Museum. “The theme of Parlor is whatever town we’re in. We’ll have historical pieces in the hallway along the length along the hallway that we will be coordinating with the museum,” said Keith.

This will be the fifth Parlor location in the Greater Cincinnati area. Keith is also the co-owner of the Ludlow location. The other locations are in Olde Milford, Mt. Washington and Pendleton.

Parlor will be open Sunday through Thursday from 12:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 12:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Feast your eyes on the new menu items;

– Edible cookie dough which includes four every day flavors and a “Flavor of Month”

– Espresso specialty drinks such as Americanos, Cortados, and, of course, shots of espresso.

– Urbana Coffee which will also be sold as whole bean bags in the shop.

– “Affogado” – An Italian coffee-based dessert featuring scoops of soft serve ice cream with espresso on top and served in a cup.

– “Java Whips” – ice cream of your choice mixed with espresso
