In the Newport Shopping Center, Jot India signs are up but no date set yet for opening.

Newport will welcome a new restaurant soon. Jot India restaurant is scheduled to go into the Newport Shopping Center next to Cricket Wireless. The signs are up and windows are covered but no news yet about an opening date.

According to Brandi Norwood, a representative of AlbaneseCormier Holdings, the Texas-based owners of both Newport Plaza and Newport Shopping Center, a hard opening date has not yet been set. According to the AlbaneseCormier website, Jot India will fill about 3,200 square feet in the center.

Overall, both properties combined boast 147,370 square feet. Keeping that much retail space full, especially during the economic uncertainty brought on by the pandemic has not been easy.
