A Wilder city councilman was killed in a motorcycle crash early Saturday morning.
Wilder Police responded to the intersection of North and Elm streets at around 4:15 a.m. where they found Rob Honaker dead at the scene.
Honaker’s motorcycle was the only vehicle involved in the crash.
“Honaker is a well-known resident whom has been very active with the city,” a news release from the city said. “He started his public service as a volunteer fireman and rose to the rank of assistant chief of the volunteer Wilder Fire Department.”
Honaker was in the first year of his third term as a city council member.
He was a volunteer firefighter who eventually rose to the position of assistant chief of the Wilder Volunteer Fire Department.
