The 63rd annual dinner for Redwood, the Northern Kentucky based nonprofit which provides educational, therapeutic, vocational and medical services to children and adults with disabilities, was held on this past Tuesday at Receptions in Erlanger. The featured keynote speaker was Vickie Yates Brown Glisson, secretary of the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services.

At the event, Drew Hollenkamp was introduced as Redwood’s new board president, replacing Karen Finan who received a special thank you and the Above and Beyond Award for her two years of service as board president and champion of Redwood’s mission. The Dorothy Wood Foundation, which houses the endowment supporting Redwood, was represented by remarks from its board president Wm. T. (Bill) Robinson III.

Redwood’s annual dinner also featured special recognition of staff with significant years of service with Redwood and presentations to the following 2016 Award Recipients who have shown outstanding support and dedication to Redwood and the Dorothy Wood Foundation:

Jan Schaffer Award of Excellence – Ed Augur

President’s Award – Dave Gottmann

Redwood is an accredited facility through CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) and NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) and helps children and adults with disabilities. Redwood serves over 800 clients each year through its 22 comprehensive programs ranging from educational, therapeutic and vocational services.  Its state-of-the-art facility allows clients to learn, interact and receive vocational training, while building upon their social skills in order to achieve the quality of life they deserve.
