Well, well, well… seems like we got a bunch of smarty pants in Northern Kentucky!
At least compared to the rest of the state.
According to a survey by Zippia, 6 of the 10 “smartest cities in Kentucky” are in Boone, Kenton, and Campbell Counties.
Zippia, a career-search website, analyzed 78 Kentucky cities that have more than 5,000 residents and then set out to find the percentage of adults (over the age of 25) with at least a high school diploma, and also looked at the percentage of high school dropouts (aged 16 to 20).
So, based on that criteria, here is Zippia‘s top 10 (with NKY cities in bold):
- Union
- Edgewood
- Ft. Mitchell
- Cold Spring
- Middletown
- Villa Hills
- Lyndon
- St. Matthews
- Douglas Hills
- Taylor Mill
Zippia provided the full rankings of all 78 cities with populations over 5,000. Here is where other NKY cities ranked:

12. Ft. Thomas
