The professional videos are now available from the amazing annual Dancing with the CLC Stars competition and fundraiser for the Children’s Law Center.
The event packed more than 450 people into Receptions in Erlanger on May 28 where a total of $84,000 was raised by the dancers and the auction.
At the event, eight local professionals who spent weeks learning their moves with pros from Arthur Murray Studios in Cincinnati, put their dancing shoes on for a Dancing With the Stars-like competition. In addition to dancing, the stars had to raise money, too, through ticket sales and donations. There were three awards: The Grand Champion is the combined winner in fundraising and talent, The Fundraising Champion is for the one who raised the most money, and the Talent Champion scores the highest total from the three judges (who can rate from 1 to 10, with 10 being the best).
The Grand Champion was Bethany Rustic Smith, marketing manager at Turner Construction, who scored a 29 (out of 30) and raised more than $14,500.
The Fundraising Champion was Dr. Barry Applegate, a dentist whose practice is in Covington.
The Talent Champion was Michael Monks, editor & publisher of The River City News who scored a perfect 30 from the judges.
Other competitors who rocked the night and raised tons of cash included Olesja Cormney, an attorney at Toyota; Tiffany Evans, an attorney at Keating Muething & Klekamp; Sue Ott Rowlands, provosot and executive vice president for academic affairs at Northern Kentucky University; Peter Hiltz, a financial planner at Wells Fargo; and Aftab Pureval, an attorney at Procter & Gamble.
