Fort Thomas is sending two students to the next level of the Scripps Howard National Spelling Bee this year.
John Laskey, a 4th-grade student at Johnson Elementary, and Kara Wright, an 8th-grade student at Highlands Middle School, both won their respective school-level competitions of the National Spelling Bee on January 8.
Both students now advance to take the online school champion test, in hopes of qualifying for the 2015 WCPO 9 On Your Side Regional Spelling Bee which will be held on February 21, 2015.
