Football

Thomas More scored 45 unanswered points to crush Thiel College on Sunday, 66-27, in the conference opener. With the win, head coach Jim Hilvert ties the school record for all-time wins with 61.
All-American tailback Domonique Hayden went off for 154 yards on 20 carries, and also tied a school record for most touchdowns in a game with five on the afternoon. Wide receiver Goose Cohorn also had a nice day with six catches for 132 yards and two touchdowns.
The 22nd-ranked Saints (2-1) host Westminster College in their home-opener on Saturday.
Soccer

NKU men’s soccer fell to IUPUI in Indianapolis over the weekend, 2-0. The Norse are now 1-2-3 and will play Wright State on Tuesday at the NKU Soccer Soccer Complex.

NKU women’s soccer also had a tough weekend as they lost to Murray State, 4-1, on the road. The Norse goal was scored by freshman Macy Hamblin who now has four on the season. The Norse (3-3-2) head to South Carolina to take on Francis Marion on Tuesday.

Thomas More men’s soccer came away with a win on Saturday, beating Bluffton, 3-1, on the road. Saints goals were scored by Bryan Runyon, Kyle Troutman, and Eli Nienaber. The Saints (5-2) host Transylvania University on Wednesday at 4pm.

Thomas More women’s soccer also won big at Bluffton with a 7-0 shutout, their seventh shutout in a row. Junior forward Olivia Huber recorded a hat-trick in the win. Also with goals were Nicole Brown with two, Samantha Goodwin, Julia Flagge-Echols, and Abby Stadtmiller. Sophomore goalkeeper Megan Barton recorded the shutout. The 8th-ranked Saints remain undefeated (8-0) and try to stay perfect as they travel to Ohio Northern University on Saturday.

Cooper boys soccer is 11-0 on the season as they took care of Holy Cross, 3-1, last Thursday. They will play another undefeated team at Scott (8-0-1) on Saturday night.

Newport Central Catholic girls soccer took their first loss of the season on Saturday to Bishop Brossart, 2-0. The Breds are now 8-1on the year and try to get back to winning against Conner on Monday night.
Volleyball

Ludlow volleyball team has now lost three straight after winning their previous 10 matches in a row. The latest setback came at the hands of St. Henry, 25-9, 25-7. The Panthers (10-5) will play Williamstown on Monday.

Scott volleyball now has the most wins in Northern Kentucky with a 16-4 record on the season. The Eagles have won eight of their last nine matches and host 9-3 Cambell County on Tuesday.
