Two hundred employees from Fidelity Investments joined Congressman Thomas Massie and Covington Mayor Sherry Carran to make improvements at Holmes Middle School on Friday and Saturday.
The volunteers painted stairwells and hallways, and worked on inspirational murals throughout the building. Other work included a student achievement wall and bulletin board in the cafeteria, the assmebly of 800 school supply kits with personalized notes, the improvement of outdoor spaces with landscaping, and the creation of college corners throughout the school to reinforce college readiness and to establish a welcoming space for students.
One of the volunteers was sophomore Adrian Hall, who has been volunteering with the Fidelity efforts since he was in sixth grade.
